Nordkirchen and Lüdinghausen

On a sunny Saturday morning, two friends and I embarked on a journey to Nordkirchen to visit a friend.

We toured Schloss Nordkirchen, tasted delicious cakes at Café Schlaun, and proceeded to Lüdinghausen to visit its Renaissance castle Burg Lüdinghausen.

A fairytale experience in pictures.

I was joined by British expat and talented writer John Pilkington. He’s hiked hundreds of routes and visited countless beautiful cities. I like to refer to his blog or Instagram when I’m planning my next holiday. Chances are, he’s been there.

Nordkirchen Castle really is the star of the show here. The castle and its impressively-maintained grounds have fully earned it the title of the Versailles of Westphalia.

I live in Düsseldorf Germany, a city in the heart of North Rhine Westphalia. For me, photography and art provides the motivation to explore, create and learn. It's a passion that motivates me to visit new places regardless of weather and time.I make most of my art by taking long walks, reading and researching.
